What to do with worries

There is a simple verse in the bible that expresses Gods wish to through our worries onto him. For me still one of the most simple and powerful instructions to live and we can probably find it in any mystic school teachings.

We know worrying is future related, it involves sentences like

  • “What will be ”
  • “How shall this turn into something good?”
  • “How will we get through this”

Of course we can argue that for example worrying about someone in hospital is present related, but is it really? If someone we love is in hospital we are challenged to look at this part of live. To look at illness and well being, to look at live and death. These are all chances to learn and grow and experience live in it’s full depth. I m not saying this is easy, but it is what it is.

To think and reflect about what will be the outcome if the direction stays what it is, is also a beneficial thing. We can take our responsibility and do what we can do to direct and manage. And we can honor the things we can not change and find peace with them.

What happens when we engage in worrying thoughts? What can we observe?

Are we meeting our pain? Or are we fearing a certain outcome, cause we think this would be bad?

Would it be BAD?

Or is there a higher purpose within what is or might be happening.

Now my suggestion for worrying would not be not to try and not think about them, cause they will only push in harder and create impact in the unconscious. It’s more advisable to give them space. Conscious space. And if you chose to: Faith space

Of course one of the simplest things to do is to talk to a friend. We can say to “unload”.

And it is that what we are doing, we are unloading the thoughts of our mind by speaking them. If we are lucky and someone is listening, without trying to fix it, we will most likely experience relief. If we do get unasked for advise, we might feel even more burdened that before. The same if we receive pity or the listener might de validate our situation. Something we do a lot and all the time and that is worth practicing to not do anymore…but this will be another episode on this emotional healing page.

When we through our worries to God, when we tell Thy (him/her/it) what is moving in our mind and when we are open to receive the comfort of connecting to the all-mighty power of live itself, we will surely find relief in given time.

I want to invite you to through your worries to God every day. Maybe as a morning ritual or an evening ritual. Maybe you want to write them down, maybe you want to speak them out loud. Try what serves you best. For me it’s important to at least speak them out loud. In silent prayers I often loose my focus or I simply don’t feel the same impact than if the words leave my mouth. There is meaning in all these small observations. But I wont go into detail now. Ponder on the details if you feel like it.

For my own practice I feel it brings my mind into balance. I can use it for what I need it for and my channel of intuition is clearer, when I first clear of the worries.
