You’re invited to come and retreat at the Landeira River House.
Our second home is situated in a stunning valley amidst raw nature.
We invite others to join us there on several weekends a year. We welcome single people, couples (or good friends), small groups and families.
For the April retreat we have up to four spaces for the full weekend with sleeping places available in the bell tent.
It is our intention to create wholesome retreats that are simplistic and affordable, retreats that give us all opportunity to support each other in these days of big change. We love to share our skills and they blend quite nicely.
Laura is a gentle movement awareness guide, a yoga therapist who loves to work with the healing art of writing. A UK-native, Laura loves gardening and river-swimming and has made Portugal her home for the past eight years.
Melanie’s passions include systemic constellation work and using emotional healing as a guide to ease into hidden resistances whilst honouring the NOs and the boundaries of every individual. She also loves mental exploration and strongly believes that healing work should contain a fair amount of humour and fun.
We hope to make this a nicely balanced retreat with the opportunity to work on individual challenges as well as having group time and fun together 😉

Our house can only be reached by walking for 10-15 minutes over rocky, uneven terrain. It is an off-grid location though we have a 12-volt solar system for a few lights and, if necessary, to charge phones. There is no fridge. We have a compost toilet and there is on outdoor place washing and cleaning teeth. You can jump in the river to freshen up but NO soap or shampoos should be used in the river since it is used for drinking water further down the valley.
Where will I stay?
There is the option to stay in our bell tent for which we ask a contribution of €30 per person (for our work of setting up the tent and taking it down, plus blankets to use as mattresses and covers for the night). You will have to bring a sleeping bag/duvet and possibly an extra mattress for comfort.
What to bring
Bring comfortable clothes and shoes and carry your belongings in a rucksack since there is no pathway for suitcases with wheels.
We will eat and cook together so please either bring food or make a €30 donation for food for the weekend.
We leave it up to you to pay what you want to give. We put our hearts and souls into the work that we do and are happy to do so for conscious donations. We are also open to accepting non-monitory exchanges. Please tell us if you’d like to exchange. You can pay during the retreat.
Want to participate?
Contact Melanie by e-mail, telegram or phone with any questions you may have or for a get-to-know-each-other-chat and reserve your space. If you want to stay in the tent, please pay a deposit of €15 to confirm your stay. Otherwise, no deposit is needed.
