Our needs are something that is changing all the time. One day we may need to stay in bed till 9 and the next week we may feel like getting up at 4 and being productive.
So when this happens it’s not necessarily an issue, but it might be simply a shift in necessities. Like if you had a productive week and then feel like staying in bed longer, your body and mind might need some rest from the speed and productivity you had.
We live in this world of high speed productivity that tells you all about how to be productive and also how to “plan” your free time. Whilst it can be a wise thing to plan when to have free time and what you could do to make it pleasurable it is also needed to create space for NOTHINGNESS.
Simply creating a space where things can happen.
I once did this little workshop about happiness and we were asked to give points to the various areas in our lives: Relationship, friendships, family, professional live, hobbies, health, spirituality, new interests & learning, me time, nothingness time…..(add what you feel is important to you)
Now give each area points of fulfillment from a scale of 1 -10.
It will give you very quickly an answer what you need with priority now. And if you do it more often, you will come to realize that your needs change over the time, as one “tank” gets filled, another might move up in the list of importance.
And before I bring my daily ramble to an end I d like to remind about giving yourself a hug and well done for taking care of your needs, for learning about your needs and for being a better human to yourself and others whilst doing this.
