Change is the only constant in live. Nothing stays as it is, but still change is challenging and we have a tendency to resist change. There is a saying, what we know feels save, that is why we wont change, but is it really the fear of the unknown that is stopping us?
I do not think so, it is the fear of what we think could happen. There is no thread in the unknown. Have you ever seen a baby being scared of things? In general we can see that we are curious beings, like evey new being arriving to the planet, but we start to collect experiences and make up a progrm in our mind that tells us if things are safe or unsave, if they can hurt or if they feel good.
We usually won’t touch fire twice, cause we learned.
Back to the original issue of fear of change. It is important to understand that you are not scare d of the unknown but of your what-all-could-go-wrong-expectations. When you know this you can handle and negotiate with your fear much better.
And when I say handle, I would like to invite you to invite your emotion of fear and once again befriend with it. Find out what the message is, the experience in the past that has been frightening you and giving you the message that the world is a dangerous place in some aspects. The journey starts on the inside. The outside will adjust accorrding to the inner pictures we create.
When I met my fear of change I was led to the scared Melanie that is very afraid of being left alone and being betrayed and let down. And I could see and realise how I created my “invincable” Melanie from this point. The part of me that managed so much on my own and that proofed to me that I can do it….till the point I decided to fill my loneliness (and fear of being let down, betrayed and abondend) with more than just a proof-to-myself-that-I-can-do-it-nature.
And I started welcoming true connections in my live. I met my husband and all my connections with people have become so much better. For me now a much better way of healing the problem of loneliness and the wound of abondenment.
We generally need the opposite to heal from an overwhelming experience and at some point we can see how the experience benefited us in deep levels and the balance will come naturally.
When we feel stuck in any fear, the task is simply to recognise the next step.
