I haven’t really read a book of Eckhart Tolle just snippets and I heard a lot of his work and sometimes if seams like he is teaching the opposite of what I teach and follow.
Whilst I say feel it to heal it he says negative emotions are like hungry beings that we feed with our negative thoughts.
Negative emotions are from our ego (again such a negative loaded word) and we feed them with our thoughts. Which in turn would benefit the positive thinking and affirmation business (not the tolle talks about this, but just for consideration).
When I read more into Tolles explanations I found the same what my discoveries and believes are. He also talks about that we need to open up to a full emotional experience in order to not get stuck with it. He describes things a little different and to me it sounds more harsh and not quite as understanding. Everyone that “feeds” negative emotions, does that not because they like to feel bad, but because they don’t know that there are other options or how to work with negative emotions. Many times when I read stuff like we feed our negative emotions with our thoughts, my first reaction was : So it’s my fault….I should just stop thinking. Whilst under the light of self love and life love, I can recognise that there is a meaning to this game and if I embrace and start making friends with my emotions and thoughts I get the chance to change. By becoming conscious of what I have chosen so far, through discovering my emotions through my pain body I become more of the real me.
Creating space for my pain body to heal by allowing it, will lead me to the stuff that is stuck and wants to be released.
So in my eyes i wouldn’t say, we feed the negative emotions with our thoughts, but the negative emotions come back to us to make us aware of our subconscious touhgts and to give access to the hidden pain. It’s a clever way of the body to help us. For me, this sounds a ton more inviting 🙂
Still I love Tolles work and the fact that you can buy it anywhere and it became so popular. Humans need this information and there is different people that like to hear things in different ways.
What Tolle also writes about (I was reading in the new earth book) is that there is a pain body from the past. And that is extremely important to understand and I totally agree.
In my understanding we need to welcome also the pain body of the past and process it. It’s like all the pain that has no chance to be felt and that will attach to the souls that vibrate similarly, there is no way of outcasting these entities, it’s matter and it will always exist, unless we transform it into something positive and nurturing. At least this is my current belief.
In these current times I feel this is so needed, humanity has this huge pain body attached of all the unprocessed and unfelt fears and powerlessness moments since our existence. We are currently having a huge invitation to recognise and feel them.
For me I will stay with “feel it to heal it”, knowing that this does not mean that I fed negative emotions, but that I release them.
Have a nice day.
