I used to have my troubles with this phrase and especially because what I observed is that people just mantrad for letting go, because of unpleasant stuff they wanted to get rid of and haven’t dealt with at all.
Letting go is often used as the great “spiritually justified” escapism.
To my observation came also that things that we deal with do go away by themselves once we are done.
BUT, I just had some new interesting thoughts about this based on my recent experience with body healing, where I could feel lost of stuff go that I felt I had finished with and still it remained somewhere in my body and needed that touch and body work to finally go. Plus I had some intense wiggling worms in my head to the subject of the amount of stuff people have these days and the situations that get created from this.
Now I am an organiser and very good in decluttering stuff, getting rid of what you don’t need anymore, making space for the presence. Honouring stuff again, repairing what is broken, being respectful, careful with things. Being aware what process it took to get that “thing”. I wont go into detail here as this will be a separate article, but what I wanted to say is the connection.
People who have to much stuff have this because they never consciously look and ask themselves, do I really need this, use this, want this? Would it be better to give away, upcyle (transform) or put into rubbish???
They have moved in in life and are actually having the present stuff that they do use and deal with but they still have the old stuff lying about!
So if you don’t look, what is around you and clean up and muck up the old and not unused anymore stuff, than you ll be in chaos or better the old will still be there influencing the present.
And the same happens insight. There seam to be stuff that does not go away totally by processing it, but it needs a final last touch to be released.
But let me give a practical example.
Lets say someone has had an issue with an explosive father and needed to go through lots of emotional healing work to process the fear habits and reactions. And than things change on one level and life becomes different, better, smoother.
But there is an old pain in the body, that came from a time where the body needed to adapt a protection pose, this is engraved in the body and because it’s not just the pose that damaged, but the whole meanwhile occuring domino effect. Tension on one place will create counter tension on another place and the whole body is in a copping position instead of the ideal body posture.
Now with this in mind it makes sense to do the body work that connects to the old patterns and communicate to them that you are ok for them to go if they no longer serve you. If they do still serve you as a reminder to something you haven’t been processing/integrating etc than they may reveal and bring you to the next step of the work. Everything is in perfect order.
There are no disorders 😉 Just reminders!
