Rolfing – releasing age-old fascial restrictions- an experience

Last week I had the opportunity to be “rolfed” by a guest that stayed with us at Casa Bela Vista and because the experience was so beneficial I wanted to share about it so more people may find this very helpful method.

We started with looking at my body the way how I stand and how this feels in my body, weight distribution and other sensations. I noticed that I really don’t like standing on my feet straight. I wish to move, drop a hip or do something. My knees felt burdened, my weight was definitely more on the inside and back of my feet and no weight on the outside of the feet.

After a 80 minute session of deep and very slow pressuring on my body I felt totally different. I could feel the energy shifts already during the session and enjoyed the changes, but when I git us i felt I was a “new” person, but somehow an old person, I used to know. It was like me many years ago, how I used to feel.

It was quite overwhelming, because I suddenly got a sense of all the weight and burdens I carry with me without even being aware off.

This strong sensation has led me to decide that I will look for a rolfer in Portugal and to complete the 10 session series which is aimed to fully re-balance the body.

I still puzzles and fascinates me the various layers of trauma and trauma release that are happening in our bodies (physical/spiritual/emotional….) and the learning effects we have through these experiences.
